What TipTruth does

TipTruth is a free tip calculator and bill checker. Enter your bill's pre-tax amount, tax, and the suggested tip — TipTruth runs an integrity audit that flags tax-basis errors, inflated suggested tips, hidden fees, and inconsistent totals, then shows the fair tip and the overcharge difference.

Why it exists

Receipts increasingly calculate suggested tips on the after-tax total, sneak service charges into the fine print, and nudge you from 18% to 25% with a tap. Most people never catch the extra few dollars. TipTruth exists to make those overcharges visible in 30 seconds, before you tip.

Privacy, seriously

Everything runs in your browser. Your bill amounts are never sent to a server, never stored, and never analyzed by us. There is no account, no login, and no tracking of your numbers.
